You won't find more convincing (and thrilling!) special effects in any other movie made to date! Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton head up the cast in this superbly filmed and edited suspense adventure thriller – and James Newton Howard is well up to standard with a suitably ominous musical score. The small town of Dante's Peak is named after the inactive volcano peak that looms above it; and just as a special award confirming it as the most desired place to live within a limited number of permanent residents, a tremor of seismographic agitation is picked up by an American Geological team – and Dr Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) is half-heartedly sent to investigate. What he discovers forms the main body of the story from there on. Verdict: this one is a definite “must see!”
